Let it be said, with no oak, no Cognac! Indeed, wood plays an essential role in the final expression of cognac. This oak, is for the barrels for living at the end of the double heated in Charentais still. It is in this setting that the cognac will age and is its tannins will give beautiful amber or gold to the drink. If you want to produce an exceptional and complex of cognac, then making a barrel following an equally complex process is necessary…
Since the 90s, the Moine brothers took to heart to discover this dimension of cognac design by creating an original tour, lively and very informative, which opens the door to this precision craftsmanship .
Where the oaks come from, where we store the Oak, how are staves created, first steps before fabrication of the staves, the constituent elements of the belly of the barrel. This is what we reveal at the visit to the stave. The tour will then continue at the cooper to understand the technicality of making a barrel and ending at the Charentais Moine Brothers distillery to complete the picture of the total production of cognac.
Of course, a tasting of Cognac and Pineau will be necessary after this long manufacturing process.
