Guest Letters
Dear Nick and Sally
Well what can I say!
We had the happiest 75 year old on the planet for two days!
Thank you so much. It was just perfect.

What a fantastic start to the New Year! There is nowhere else we would rather have been. It was just so lovely to experience the joys of Le Logis du Paradis – so aptly named. I think you have achieved miracles in such a short time and anyone who stays with you is exceedingly lucky. The rooms are so warm and comfortable, the water piping hot and the service from you unsurpassable.

This is really to thank you both for looking after Hugo and Pippa so well; they thoroughly enjoyed their stay and Hugo was full of the trip around the Cognac distillery. Thanks Nick - I guessed you would pull out the stops.

Dear Nick and Sally
We had a great time last weekend, thank you for all your organisation. We think the Paradis is fantastic, a big project, but you have made a good start with the four beautiful bedrooms - it made me come back and look at my guest rooms with a critical eye!

Dear Nick,
Thanks for the stopover at your place and special thanks to Sally who made us so welcome and looked after us ( even when we were supposed to have departed but spent two hours trying to persuade the boot lid to close ! ).
I will be in contact to book up for another date.
In the meantime I wish you and Sally luck with your project. You have a wonderful place. Just try not to murder the builders !

Firstly many thanks to you both for making Julie's and my holiday the very best we have had, we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of being in your French home it was so nice be able to come back every night and not be living out of a suitcase. We particularly enjoyed shopping in the market.
General consensus is that Le Paradis should have at least 5 stars!!
Had a wonderful drive back to Caen nice crossing on latest Brittany Ferries ship and an excellent meal on board. Arrived Portsmouth 10 pm really awful drive home at 1am. There were more cones and road works between Portsmouth and Chelmsford than in the whole of France.

Thank you both so much for our lovely stay at the Logis du Paradis – you made us feel very welcome and we thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of your setup. The natural charm of the buildings – so lovingly and cleverly restored- together with the attractive countryside make it the perfect place to relax and enjoy rural France at its best. We have had a thoroughly enjoyable week. I must say we also enjoyed the Lotus – I can still imagine that throaty roar!
Your meet and greet service together with transport to Bordeaux was much appreciated and Bordeaux airport was a restful place to wait. The plane was on time and even arrived early at Bristol, where unfortunately it was pouring with rain – Oh dear, back to reality!
So, thank you both again for your hospitality and we wish you a long and successful season both for the rest of this year and the next. We will pass the word around here about what a super place it is to stay!

Tranquillity in the Heart of Cognac Country
If you don't care for the personal touch or are indifferent to sublimely beautiful scenery or are looking for hustle and bustle then this venue is not for you. If, however, you like the ambience of modernity within lovingly restored 18th century rural French architecture and like the feeling of visiting well-informed and helpful friends, such as Nicholas and Sally Brimblecombe, proprietors, then the Le Logis du Paradis is just right. Nestled in the heart of Le grand Champagne--the heart of cognac country, this restored inn represents a stress free, tranquil getaway. You have the option to dine in or Nick and Sally will book a table at a local restaurant. All the food is locally sourced and it is a pleasure to be greeted with freshly baked croissants and baguettes first thing in the morning. Touring the region is a delight and the closest urban centres are Angouleme and Bordeaux. The coast, however, is a 90 minute jaunt and if you like fish and seafood, then it is worth the trip to one of the islands such as île de Re or île d'Olerun. There are many areas worth exploring and a local distillery tour, to get the insider's view of how to make the best cognac and of course, have a taste, is a must. Nick and Sally can't do enough for their guests who they consider 'friends'. The locals in this rural part of France are extremely friendly and helpful. Speaking the language is always useful but you can get by if you don't. The area is pristine and the roads are congestion-free. If you like driving, it couldn't be better. Nick also arranges vintage car tours and rallies, with a number of beauties stored on the property. Rentals are available. The room we had was lovely and large with a super King-size, very comfortable bed, lovely bath and shower with lots of pressure...very important. Room rates vary depending on the season but we paid 95 Euro per night which we thought was very reasonable. Meals were extra. We had a lovely time and found it all perfectly charming. We'd have no hesitation about recommending this idyllic venue and certainly plan on returning. Visiting does give you more than a glimpse into a truly wonderful life.
Pros: Personal service and the room. Cons: nothing!
Had a fantastic stay at Logis du Paradis
We stayed here for four nights at the beginning of August. I cannot recommend this place highly enough, we had a wonderful stay. The place itself is beautiful, situated in very pretty countryside, perfect for walking or cycling (or cognac tasting!). Our room was lovely, very spacious, tastefully decorated and immaculate (we had room 3). The inclusive breakfasts were delicious and on the three fine days we had, we ate on the pretty terrace. The saltwater pool and pool area were great, plenty of chairs and loungers for basking in the sun.
It was the owners, Nick and Sally, who made the place so special though. They were charming, kind and fantastic hosts, we had the sense that they geniunely wanted all of their guests to have the best stay. Oh and the two resident springer spaniels, Bracken and Bramble are pretty cute too :-). We had a couple of their four course evening meals on the terrace, along with other guests and they were great fun and the food was very good.
We thought it was great value for the price and it exceeded our already high expectations. I can't imagine that anyone could leave Logis du Paradis feeling anything other than relaxed, happy and very well looked after.
